oh yes. had a double header indoor soccer on sat. first Acton, who tied us 2-2 first game of the year when we had no subs and were all out of shape. we owned them 8-3. yeah and that asian girl who looked liek a boy, i totally laid her out the same way she did to me that very first game. their goalie was terrible. just impressive overall. we had basically the full team, including ben. mike rinaldi hurt himself elbow-wise but i hope he's better. lotsa subs good playing. we played veryv ery well. peter crouch scores for the first time for liverpool this weekend, so consequently rory netted this weekend as well. touchez. next game was sudbury slammers. GREAT game. first half looked gorgeous between joe and ben. some really sweet setups and nasty moves, especially joe rainbowing the goalie. so ridiculous. but yeha very good game. they beat us 9-3 last time, we beat them 8-7 this time around. very well matched up. joe laid this chick out during the game and she hurt her knee or something but it was crazy nonetheless. he's so aggressive, but as mean as that can be he's probably the best/smartest player on the field. had fun in that one, played a lot of d, but not shitty d. for some reason i could focus or whatever. but the guy i kept getting had some heat in the legs. he was hauling. good times though, great guy good team, good guys on the team. i had a good time, whether it had turned out that we won or lost. no ugly blisters on my feet. no crappy physical aspects. felt good to win two games. with the team that should have been around for all of the games.
Newcastle tied this weekend, not too ecstatic about that, but we played well without Owen. Thsi groin issue is really started to piss me off. He's the heart fo the team, even though he hasn't been around long. his skill and sheer goal-scoring ability is a much needed morale booster for the team, especially after losing to Wigan AGAIN in the fourth round of the Carling Cup. against their reserve team, serously. that's pitiful. and Souness knew it. I like him, but he's gotta get the players to come together and beat these guys that are very good but you don't see their names all over the place. we can't underestimate. But a tie i can deal with, a loss would have sent the Newcastle fan base demanding Souness's head. which i think already happened at Wigan. But we can pull through.
Shearer is closing in on the all-time scoring record for Newcastle. This weekend was his 198th for Tyneside. Bring it on Arsenal.
ps. I can't leave out the countless stunning performances by keeper Shay Given. So good. He's holding us up. Not often do you see keepers with man of the matches.
