britpop: the comic book

Jul 16, 2007 18:32

image comics put out a series called "phonogram" -- subtitled "rue brittania" -- described as a "modern dark-fantasy ... focused around a spiteful social-group of pop-obsessives."

the six-part series came with covers that riffed off of popular britpop albums (see them here -- very cool), including elastica, black grape, blur, oasis, suede, and manic st. preachers. i think my faves are prob elastica and 'definitely maybe.'

lots of trainspotting to be done in this series, methinks.

what i really want to know ...
is what exactly do you do for an encore?
