Fall is definitely here! It's been in the low 50s the past couple of mornings and only high 60s during the day. I love the cool, but I know the kids aren't used to it. We got tons of hand-me-downs from my brother when Colton and Daphne were born, but unfortunately my children's speed of growth is not matching up seasonally to the clothes we have. Daphne literally has 2 long sleeve onesies and that is it. We have tons of long sleeve rompers for her, but they are all way to big still. Colton has a 4 long sleeve onesies and that is it for him. So I just did a little smart online shopping. I managed to get 4 long sleeve shirts for Colton, 4 long sleeve shirts for Daphne, and 3 pairs of thick rib knit tights for Daphne all for $40 (with coupon codes)! Team that with a gift card and I really only spent $16 of my own money. Today Daphne is wearing a jean dress, ruffled turtleneck, and pink pants underneith...these cloths can't come fast enough.
We'll definitely be doing the layered look this fall/winter, short sleeve shirts over long sleeve onesies.
I got Daphne the really thick cotton tights...sheer tights will do nothing for New England weather. I'm thinking she might even be a baby that occasionally ends up wearing tights underneith her pants.
Today I started my Monday/Tuesday job of taking Georgia to the bus stop. It's only 4 hours of work a week and an easy $50. I got up at 5am, woke the kids at 5:15am, had them dressed by 5:30am, fed them and we were out the door by 6:10am. The kids were great! Daphne stayed in her bucket the whole time (napped for 40 minutes) and Colton was a little fussy, but fine once I took him out of the bucket and held him. Georgia was really cute with the kids and was happy to just watch tv until her bus came (her mom said that was fine).
I had an interview on Sunday for a Saturday sitting position for a 2 year old. The mom needs someone every Saturday until Christmas from 10am-4pm and she said I can definitely bring Colton and Daphne with me! The meet up went really well and I have a test run with her son Connor tomorrow for an hour. If that goes well, then I have the job! That'll be an extra $75 a week. I know we need to cut money, not just make more money, but every little bit helps. We saved $60 just by dropping our cable and we're going to be dropping our renter's insurance too.
Jay and I went to a cookout together on Saturday...
