REVIEW No. 1: I am Number Four

Mar 31, 2011 11:29

Yesterday I went to the cinema and watched "I am Number Four". The last time before that I already dicided I wanted to give a short review of the film I saw, but something came inbetween and I forgot. So this is my first review ever.

STORY
An alien from planet Lorien (Alex Pettyfer) was sent to Earth as a child alongside eight others to escape an invading race, the Mogadorians, which destroyed their home planet. He is protected by a Warrior/Guardian, Henri (Timothy Olyphant), and has developed superpowers due to his extraterrestrial nature. The Mogadorians have to kill these children one after another and are now searching for Number Four (later called John Smith). As John tries to blend in, he goes to school and, as every teenager, falls in love with a hobby photographer Sarah Hart (Dianna Agron). The film builds then up to a final battle against the Mogadorians, whom naturally found John in his hiding.

CRITISISM
I think its a really cute teenage action movie. And knowing such you will not be disappointed.
What I like about this story the most is that Number Four knows that he is an alien, was his whole life on the run, and did not exidently discover some superpowers, not knowing where they come from. The love story around Sarah, and Number 4 disobeying his guardian Henri are standard teenager problems and as I said bevore kinda cute if you like things like that and did not expect a through and through hardcore action movie.
The action scences where kinda cool and I liked to watch them, but I had hoped for more! The story leaves some questions open but which film doesn't.
I loved Dianna Aragon, but I think thats mostly, because she is so breathtakingly beautiful and I love her in Glee. Her evil ex-boyfriend Mark (Jake Abel) I recognized from Percy Jackson, where he played Luke (also evil) and Supernatural where he played Sam and Deans brother Adam.

CONCLUSION
I liked to watch this movie, and I liked to see it on the big screen at the cinema, but watching it at home on br would have been sufficent enough! I think there might be a sequel and I would watch that to.
3 out of 5 on my list!
