The show was good, not my favorite in terms of Hanson shows. They're still a little rusty when it comes to the new stuff; they're not quite as tight yet as they are with the old songs, and that's okay.
We got to the venue at 5. The ticket said 7:30. Not "Doors Open 7:30" or "Show begins 7:30 sharp", just "7:30." So I didn't know what to expect or when they would let the line in. I felt bad for Jess, who likes Hanson but wouldn't wait in the cold for them. So we waited in my car, much to my disappointment, until about 7 and the line started moving at 7:45.
I thought for sure we'd be in the back of the venue, but we scored a primo spot Isaac's side, facing Hanson's profiles. At that moment, I was glad that we didn't wait in the cold for hours, because it just wouldn't have been worth it.
The Family were in front of us the whole time. Penelope is stunningly cute. Zac kept looking over at Kate and smiling and it was really adorable. I heard the twit in back of me say, "OMG, Zac was looking here, and I smiled at him, and he smiled right back at me!" and I had to bite my lip from laughing out loud.
Walker was videotaping with what I swear was, and what Melissa pointed out to be, the same videocamera from 1998. I'm glad some things never change.
They went on a short little schpiel about it being ten years since MMMBop, and I don't know what it was, but I got weirdly nostalgic and sentimental. It felt like the first time I heard that song played live. I felt like my heart was going to soar out of my chest. Ask me a week ago and I would have said that I never want to hear that song in concert again, its just taking up time where they could be playing a better song. But now I've changed my mind.
They have to play MMMBop this year, 2007. After that, they can stop :)
