Told you I'd post the John fic tomorrow. =)
(I really didn't intend for it to be an actual story, it just kinda happened.)
Title: Eternity of Night: Legends of the hunter.
By: RogueCajun/Badwolf-doctor/rocksaltnrifles (whatever the hell else I call myself)
Summary: Legends tell the tale of a mysterious hunter of the supernatural, but which is the truth? Just some short little “legends” about our favorite Papa-bat. =)

A/n: Inspired by the “Legends of the Dark Knight” episode of Batman: the animated series.
Legend tells of a ‘dark knight’, a crusader waging an endless war against inexplicable forces---a hunter dedicated to saving the world from the supernatural. He was not always this tortured soul, many years ago he was just a man. A man who answered his country’s call for heroes, this was when he first became the soldier; the man who put the mission first. Above friends, above reason, above self-always the mission. He was the man who could always be counted upon to stay the course no matter what the obstacles. It was upon his return that he first encountered the angel who would become his wife. She was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen, and the kindest. When he was with her he felt as if he could bury the soldier and simply be the man again; he would never tell anyone but that was his secret wish. A wish that for a time seemed like it would be granted, they had the perfect life. That is, until something crawled out of the depths of hell and killed her. The day they buried his angel they buried the man as well, he was gone forever; all that was left now was the soldier. And he had a new mission, vengeance. He would hunt down the thing that had killed his wife and he would give it a taste of justice. They say that he trained with masters, monks and shamans who possessed the secrets that would allow him to find his wife’s killer. It was from them that he learned that he as a mere mortal man would never succeed; he needed to become something more, at least in the minds of his enemies. He would be a force for good, a shadow that struck and then faded away as quickly as he appeared; they would know him only by his last name, and Winchester would become a name that would strike fear into the hearts of supernatural beings, of that he was certain.
Coming up next is the first chapter of "Eternity of Night", another Papa-bat legend and maybe a Sam sidestory. =)
