Length: 39,000 Summary: Twelve years ago, jealousy and a series of misunderstandings tore three friends apart. When faith, or serendipity, brings them all back to the same town, they are forced to face what happened, put old ghosts to rest, and maybe rewrite their own history to find their way back to each other.
Reccer's notes: What I really love about that fic is that it shows two sides of the coin called polyamory. On one side Jared, Jensen and Misha develop feelings towards each other so naturally. It's just how it is. They fall in love. On the other hand monogamy is so much the rule in our society that they don't even think there might be other possibilities. It takes them years to admit that there's love between all three of them and even longer to overcome the feeling of jealousy society taught them to have when seeing the other two together. Also all three of them are true geeks. You just have to love them!
[Short excerpt] Short excerpt: Jared turned around, his polite smile freezing when his eyes landed on Misha, like he recognized him instantly. Unlike Jensen. His face lit up for a second and his arms lifted from his sides like he wanted to give Misha a hug before he caught himself. Misha smiled back hesitantly, and Jensen was glad he could see both their faces from where he stood as Misha raised his arms in silent invitation and Jared’s face crumpled with relief.
He didn’t hesitate for a second to wrap his arms around Misha, his head obscuring Misha’s face from view, and Jensen felt a thrill of happiness at the sight. The look on Jared’s face, though, made something dark and unpleasant uncurl in Jensen’s stomach. The awe and tenderness made Jensen wonder just how blind he had been back in high school to not see how very much in love with Misha Jared was.
The way Misha’s hands clung to Jared’s shirt made him suspect any offer Jared made wouldn’t be declined.
He watched Jared blink the moisture from his eyes and wondered where that left him.
