Fic summary: Turns out the world ends with a whimper after all.
Reccer's notes: This is a Dean/Cas apocalypse non-supernatural!AU. Dean's on one end of the country, Sam's on the other. While trying to contact Sam via radio, Dean finds one of the few survivors of a virus: Castiel, a human doctor in California. I love the slow build-up of this story. Dean's desperate to find Sam, hoping against hope that Sam is one of the few survivors like himself but not really sure that he is. The relationship between Dean and Cas builds slowly -- I'd say it's more pre-slash than slash -- not least because they communicate by radio while Dean drives across the country.
The reader's voice is clear and lovely and the sad tone fits perfectly with the story. The volume is a little too low (I had to turn it up to max), but there's no notable background noise.
