[ Sam/Dean ] Title: The hunger of abandonned places Writer: glovered Status of work: complete Characters and/or pairings: Sam/Dean, John, OC Rating: PG Warnings, kinks & contents: [Click to read]a little wincestuous pining on Sam's part when he's underage (15), but nothing happens then Length: 4000 Summary: Sam and Dean have been down this road before.
Reccer's notes: Something more cheerful than the last couple of recs for the end of the month! This is a lovely, quiet piece that threads here and there through Sam and Dean's lives and gets at a sense of transitory permanence. Things change but they don't go away; you leave them, but they're there for you, and Sam and Dean being together feels chosen and fragile but permanent in its cycles. It's fitting that a crucial section is outsider POV, as though the fic needed an embodiment of place as witness.
(The art by colls is lovely, too, and you should look at it -- I didn't think it was explicitly Sam/Dean enough in its content to be recced in this category, but you can see exactly where the germ and atmosphere of the fic came from.)
