Reccer's notes: This is one of my all time favourite Evil!Sam stories. Leonidaslion has written some pretty amazing pieces, but this remains a perennial favourite of mine. Her characterization of Dean is so perfect and Sam is so patient, so wily, slowly wearing Dean down. You know right from the beginning that Dean is doomed, but Sam isn't going to rush him, he's going to take as much time as Dean needs to get him on board. The paradox in all the Evil!Sam stories of course is how Sam can be so absolutely logical and smart, yet completely overlook all the evil he is doing. A wonderful read that isn't really all that evil in the big scheme of things, just packed with brilliant little scenes and wonderful characterization.

I love this little factoid: Hesperus is ancient Greek for "Morning Star".

[Short excerpt]Dean glances over his shoulder as he picks up his pants (soft and billowing, black silk: Dean knew he shouldn’t have let Sam watch Aladdin so many times when they were kids) and sure enough, Sam is wearing his suit. Black with a white shirt and a black tie. There’s a yellow smiley-face pin holding the tie in place.

The pin is a recent addition to the ensemble, and Dean still has to fight back a snicker as he looks at it, no matter how necessary it is. Sam could have found some other way of alerting Dean to his moods, after all: didn’t have to turn Dean’s complaint (after he pushed Sam a tad too far for the third time in as many days and ended up getting fucked facedown in some girl’s steaming remains) into a request for something so absurd.
