Summary: The Walking Dead AU. Jared's been a loner for the last three years, meaning he has difficulties when he's stumbled upon a place that's willing to keep him.
Reccer's notes: This is a fic that takes the zombie apocalypse setting and turns it into a meditation on grief and what it means to be a family. Wonderfully hopeful, even at it's bleakest points, with fantastic world-building and characters that you can't help but root for. In my comment on the fic, I said that Jared is both weary and wary, and watching his defenses slowly crumble is a beautiful thing. A quick read on a lazy holiday weekend!
