Summary: Sam and Castiel find each other, and it isn’t profound, or tragic, or beautiful. They prefer it that way.
Reccer's notes: This is both a lovely Castiel finding his way in humanity fic and the story of Sam working to recover and establish new footholds in himself and his life, without telling Castiel or the reader much about what's happened or what he's feeling. Castiel's mixed insights into the world and Sam from his old and new perspectives are moving, and, as in some of the best of canon, Sam's mix of stubborn, oblique privacy and moments of caring hit all the harder for being indirect. A low key and unresolved but hopeful approach to possible s9 aftermath.
