He is everything Sam needs at this moment in canon--someone who knows him almost better than anyone but doesn't have the soul-crushing baggage of the spn 'verse. What should be total crack is actually filled with bittersweet tenderness and heart. Jensen and Sam each give each other exactly what they need and it's wonderful--the perfect blending of genuine emotion and scorching-hot.
