Reccer's notes: I love the achy feel of fics written right after 6x20 and the chasm that opened up between Dean and Cas, and this is one of my favorites. The author has a way of exploring Dean's emotional state and confusion at how it all fell apart that is wonderfully in-character and is exactly the kind of continuation from the episode that I think was needed. Dean feels betrayed and it's him trying to work out why even betrayal can't stop him from missing what they had, why his love is never enough to save everyone. It feels especially heartbreaking knowing the parallels to S6 that are happening now in canon.
