Reccer's notes: Tryfanstone's got a certain way with words that comes out in every single one of her stories, and this one is not at all different - despite its subject matter. And the subject matter in this specific tale is how two snails (Jared and Jensen) meet and fall in love.
While this is a crakfic, there's a certain gentless and wistfulness that surround it, such as Jensen's loneliness due to his belief that there's no other snail who's like him and his struggles with catching up with a world that moves too quickly for him until he meets Jared.
An interesting, entertaining read that's likely to break your brain and leave you blinking at the screen for several minutes.
[Short excerpt]Jensen had seen other snails. Yellow pin-striped snails, and pale, tiny tightly-whorled flat spiral snails, and garden snails with their round-arched shells and water snails with their conical black shells, but he had never seen another snail like himself. Jensen was big. Fully extended, his single, gently ridged foot was the length of three oak leaves: his conical shell was the same size as a wind fallen cob apple. When they saw how big he was, other snails crawled away as fast as they could. "I’m not having eggs with that giant," he heard one mutter. Another said, "There’s no way that burrow’s cosy."
But Jensen wasn’t unhappy. He had the stream, and his burrow, and Violet and Frog and Sparrow. It was just that... sometimes he felt as if there was something missing.
