AHH.
Ever since I've transferred, ive been in like 'freakout mode' for my life/career/education here. Pretty much at Ball State, I would have received a bachelors of arts in Journalism, but my major would eventually have been advertising and I would have had an art minor.
But here, maybe its just because i'm only in one journalism class, and its news writing and reporting, i feel like you can't focus on one area of Journalism and that everyone wants to be a writer, and I hate writing, so Im freaking out.
But, i've taken a survey in my journalism class where they are like, "whats your focus?" and advertising was one of the options, so im assuming you can concentrate on it.
Or should I switch to Marketing? Except being in the Kelly School of Business would be ridic, and thats like one more year i'm putting myself behind i feel like, and also, its more of the number crunching aspect of advertising and really want to be more of the idea business/creative side. ah.
OR i could go with the individualized major plan, because i've seen tons of people's major be "advertising" in there, and I could easily get one of my professors to be my sponsor person deal/mentor. BUT its a LOT of work, you have to plan out your coursework and give yourself huge projects and do internships and a final thesis and you have to go in front of a board and give a huge presentation on how each class you take or thing you are doing would contribute to your major. Its a LOT of self motivation and Individual hard work, and not many to sympathize with, but i know people have done it before me with advertising. but ahh idk.
help me! haha
