[ The communicator abruptly turns on to a video of what looks like a teenage girl in a broad-brimmed hat. Well, a girl with gray skin, fangs, and what looks like two fang marks on the side of her neck. She looks more than a little irritated as she fiddles with the buttons. You say "use this," but you don't come with an instruction manual and then ( Read more... )

[ ... Well. All of this is a rather.. interesting display, and Ange can't help but speak up with her tone as deadpan as ever. ]

You're right. You're just standing there with some metal shoved against your ear, congratulations.

[ Wow rude. ]

I meant--! Whatever, never mind. Can you give me straight answers, are you just going to keep wasting my time?

Sure, I can tell you what's going on, but it's not like that would help much.

You see, this place is called Discedo, and it's your new home dump for the upcoming time. You were practically kidnapped here by a bunch of scientists.

It's not like knowing nothing is helpful! I know about the kidnapping, but what about my powers?! Why were those taken away and how do I get them back?

Before you woke up here, the scientists put a chip inside of you that's blocking your powers. So now you know that, I'm sure you're smart enough to figure out how to get your powers working again, right?

I don't know whether I should be more offended by your condescending attitude or disturbed that strangers put something in my body while I was sleeping.

Being offended by the latter would be more productive, but if you decide to be offended over the former instead.. hey, I won't stop you.

I'll go with both. Right now it's more imperative that I correct the whole "there's something weird in my body" thing.

[ She shudders, making a noise of disgust and anger. It's a noise associated with either a pissy teenager or a cat whose tail you just stepped on. ]

I can't believe some psychopath put me to sleep and injected me with power-suppressing technology!

Psychopaths, actually, it's a group as far as we know. But 'psychopaths' may be a close enough term to describe it, yeah, although the new group doesn't seem as bad as the old ones.

... That being said, it's not like they would actually ever completely get to 'good' with the whole kidnapping us and secretly operating on us to put those things in deal.

Plural isn't comforting! Augh, not being as bad as other ones doesn't make them better! [ she's just raging, give her a sec and she'll calm down. ]

[ No matter the raging, Ange just speaks on with her calm deadpan tone either way. ]

I didn't say it was supposed to be comforting. Besides, you'd rather hear the truth right off the bat rather than me sugarcoating it and you finding out when it's too late, right?

[ BREAAATTTHHHHEEEE okay calming down for the sake of not embarrassing herself further. ]

Yeah, you're right. Thanks for no sugar coating. It's just a lot to take in without flipping.

It's fine. I guess it's only natural for new people to.. flip.

You'll get used to it, more or less. Not that that in itself is a good thing, but it's still some comfort.

I've been getting used to a lot of things for a lot of years. I'll probably be okay after I've had a little while to adjust. Once I rip the thingy out, I'll be totally fine.

... That being said, I'm not so sure if just literally ripping it out is going to be much of a good plan.

Is there an alternative?
