Kinda like beach week but with manual labor

This was quite a week here in Texas. I dont know how other frats do it in other schools, but here in Texas the pledges have to build these very elaborate setups for themed parties. This week the theme was beach party, which is one of the hardest partiest to set up for and we get to do it for our first one. We started building on Monday and finished on friday. First of all you should know the ATO house has a huge backyard with a basketball court with just a cement backyard next to it. Anyway its huge. So that was our build zone. Okay so over the course of the week we built a life guard tower, a raised hut with stairs, a slid, and tiki roof, a pool, a bridge over the pool, two walls to cut the backyard in half size wise, and a bar with a tiki roof. We made the pool by making walls of bails of hay so it was only like two feet deep. Anyway that was all the easy part. Its a beach party right, so you need a beach. So we had 24 tons of sand delivered to the house. We had to spread it all out in our build zone. Laying all the sand out sucked but the clean was much much worse. Ill get to that later. Just to give you some idea of how much time this took, I get out of class either two or three depending on the day, would head over to the ATO house and not leave till about ten to eleven. Anyway we finished setting up for the party on friday and the party was that night. But since we are pledges we cant simply enjoy our party we have to enjoy our party wearing costumes. I got assigned to dress up as a shark. Some of the ones were Pamela Anderson, David Hasslehof, Gilligan, Skipper, palm tree, seagull, octopus, storm trooper from star wars, star fish and a lot more. Despite that the party was awesome. It was packed. The only thing was I kept having to go swim in the pool because the actives would tell me to. I wouldnt of minded but the pool was very cold and I was wearing a grey body suit so I was freezing. Like I said though the party was alot a fun. Today on the other hand completely sucked. Today we had to deconstruct our build which meant to break down everything we built and get rid of all the sand. We also had to clean the whole house. We started at eleven this morning. Breaking down the build and cleaning wasnt so bad. It was all that fucking sand that sucked. Basically what we had to do was load up trucks with sand and find random places to dump it around town. We eventually had to reant two uhaul flatbead trailers to speed things up. it also sucked because most of our wheel barrels had flat tires. To make the day evern worse we find out that Paul, one of my pledgebrothers, get pulled over this morning for drunk driving so he is in jail right now. He drank all the way till eight this morning and tried to drive home and he got screwed. It really sucks. Hes most definately out of the fraternity which is to bad because he was a good guy. Also when we were trying to dump the last of the sand the cops found us. We said we were Phi Si's, an asshole frat. We didnt get in trouble. we just had to dump the sand somewhere else but still it was an inconvenience. By the time we finished moving all the sand it was about about eleven pm. My back is killing me from fucking shoveling sand. Anyway I did get to buy my first pair of cowboy boots. I needed them for the build in case I would of stepped on a nail or dropped a 4x4 on my foot. They are really sweet. We get the day off tomorrow except for our pledge meeting so I will probably catch up on some needed sleep and watch football. On a different note, school has been going really well. Im doing pretty good in my classes so far so Im pretty happy about that. Alright Im gonna watch some tv and fall into a coma. goodnight.
