I'm not a groupie...

Went to 107.5's Extreme Thing today. Originally bought my ticket to see The Motha F-in Matches. Got there @ about 10 am. Totally felt out of place next to these scary kids, I had on my trusty Old Navy flip flops and capris, they had on their studded belts, and Chuck Taylor sneaks. Whatever.

Anyway, first band was called Adair. Loved 'em, got the CD for a mere $5. ADAIR people, remember it. And go to their website. www.adairmusic.com

After that was The Littlest Man Band. I think I liked them because they were wearing suits with ties, and had two trumpet players. Also, got that CD for $5.

While were watching these guys, I look over and Jon (Matches) is standing about 5 ft away from me, taking pictures with his digital camera. Then, a few minutes later...Shawn (also a Match) is standing RIGHT behind me, I thought I would be dry humped from behind if he got any closer.

Finally, The Matches. We went over to that stage early, cause I definitely wanted to be close. So, before they start, I get out my pile of stickers that I got to promote them, and gave a few people one. Then they come on- people were crazy! I didn't know that anyone knew who they were. But it was cool. So they played for maybe 30 minutes.

Then we went over to the merch booth and that's when I got the 2 CD's and some cool Matches stickers. Talked to The Littlest Man Band, then Adair. The guitar player from Adair was trying too hard to make a conversation with me, "Just sign my CD, dude, I'm not too keen on talking to you." No, it was fun. They were nice- and I liked their show. Then, we went over to Justin (a Match) and had him sign my sticker. Then we went to sit because the arches in my feet were collapsing- dang flip flops!

After a pretzel with cheese, some skate competition and some much needed rest, we were again ready to conquer the crowd. Went to the merch booth for a second time, talked to Jon (a Match)...had him sign my sticker, then talked to Matt (a Match) about when they would be back in town. We left again to walk around, then went BACK to the booth a while later and I talked to Shawn (a Match) for a few minutes. Asked him how I could get more stickers to pass out, and he told me how, then leaned in to my ear and said, "Thank you." I'm like, "It's not a problem, you're verrrrrrrrrry welcome." So, maybe I didn't say that, but I was thinking it. We left around 2:50, very tired, and now I see that I'm sunburned. I put sunscreen on every inch of my body except for my face I guess.

But yea...OH! We also ran into a kid we went to school with in our earlier days, and he invited us to go to St. George to see his band play. Not a bad idea. I'm up for a road trip.

It was a good time, and I'm not a groupie. That is my final answer.
