Today, Dad graciously bought my plane tickets for The Journey To Veer's House. I will travel on Southwest Airlines, for they actually have cheap non-stop flights between Omaha and St. Louis!
Itinerary:
Friday, March 9th, 2007: I depart Omaha at 12:45 PM and arrive in St. Louis at 1:50 PM.
(INSERT EIGHT DAYS OF AMAZING AWESOME FUN AND CONCERTS!!!)
Saturday, March 17th, 2007: I depart St. Louis at 2:50 PM and arrive in Omaha at 4:00 PM.
It's such a short journey! And it cost just under $200! Zomg! I should go to Veer's house all the fucking time.
So there's that. I've got a pile of clothes next to my desk that I'm thinking about bringing. At the grocery store, I picked up some supplies (face scrub and suchlike), and I'll start packing tonight because homework is for losers and communists. I need to bring some kewl CDs for listenin' to, and also my poetry homework, and clothes, and money. Tomorrow, I'll go shopping for a new pair of jeans to add to my arsenal.
YAY VEER'S HOUSE!!!
Poetry was interesting. It usually is. I'm still reading my Anne Sexton bio and hoping to finish it really soon and possibly get my presentation done BEFORE I leave, but I may not. I'm bringing my assignment with me to St. Louis because it involves a lot of thought: I must write a poem that is an extended metaphor. I'm not well-versed in such word trickery, but let's hope I come out with something decent. Also, I have a new packet of poems to critique in addition to the half a packet I have yet to critique.
Then there's that stupidass reading journal for Form & Theory that I apparently will never complete. Or I'll complete it and try to turn it in on Thursday only to find out that she's a crazy bitch and won't accept it late (despite there being a snow day). I hate that class. Well, I hate the subject, the books we read, and the teacher. It's amusing to listen to the other kids talk.
At the grocery store, some guy from the radio station was giving away squishy Pepsi-logo ball keychains and I got one and a free can of Pepsi and then Mom was jealous of my Pepsi keychain so I got her one, too. She doesn't even really LIKE Pepsi. She put it on her coat zipper and it made her obscenely happy. Oh, Mom.
I've been driving a lot lately. I drove over the still-craptacular residential roads yesterday with Smeg so we could get out of the house and do some walking in Village Pointe (an outdoor mall sort of place). I'm getting pretty good!! License, here I come.
I need to go to the chiropractor. Ow.
