20 hours into my elimination diet, which had thus far essentially been a water fast as I slept for hours and hours (not feeling very well lately), and I was starving. Also, I had just taken Metformin and had to find something to eat before nausea kicked in. It turns out I have to take that shit 2x a day so it's like, 1700mg a day of potential nausea. Anyway, so I scrounged in the pantry for things that would fit the very strict requirements and came up with extra-virgin olive oil, 6 oz. of pure grape juice, a can of pineapple in its own juice, a can of water chestnuts (?!), chunk light tuna in water, and some baby carrots. After eating all of that, I was still empty and in pain, so I ate some pecans and cashews that might have not been completely kosher with the diet as they could've had peanut oil on them, but I didn't CARE. Smeg tried to help me find something I could eat, and after 15 minutes, we came up with water and 4-month old frozen pumpkin mash. Faced with that prospect, I broke out some instant stuffing and cranberry sauce. And had turmeric-y yellow rice and a few crackers and ah, there was my old friend nausea!
So much for the diet, and for going off it, and for eating in general. I'm having ginger ale until morning and then I will probably live on oatmeal until I can get some stupid twigs-and-wild-game type food to restart the elimination diet. I had no idea how limiting it was, I suppose.
