I dreamed about Brett/Suede again - it was weird, though. I was part of Suede, but I'm not sure how I fit in - girl back-up singer or something. And we were performing in k0hlb0rg and Brett was really giggly and flirty, and he sort of sauntered away to let Richard and Alex finish the song and then came back and everyone who'd watched the concert had vanished. He also met up with Bernard on a train, and Bernard was playing Smiths songs (chiefly "This Charming Man" as that's the only one I really know) to impress him like he'd never met Brett before. There was also a subplot with this weird amalgam of schools I've attended and it kept getting ambushed by giant ferocious cats dropped through the glass ceiling by a flying version of my mom's red Subaru Forester. I was the only person who didn't get pwn3d by the cats because I sat perfectly still as they prowled around. I think Brett was wandering the halls of the school, too, and he had a van and offered to drive me home, but not til after we (he and I and Richard and some people I didn't know) explored the school's restrooms and discovered that the women's bathroom had little bins of free pregnancy tests. For some reason, I thought that was just amazing, rather than REALLY WEIRD, and made bawdy jokes about it.

I told you it was weird.

I adore this song - I've been listening to all the Suede/Tears stuff that the British boy Chris sent me on this DVD and the Head Music/A New Morning-era b-sides are just amazing. The Tears b-sides are REALLY GOOD; I love "Southern Rain," "Low-Life" and "The Primitive" best. I keep meaning to play some CDs but I haven't - just mp3s. And I'm glad I got my last.fm to start working again because it was really annoying when it didn't send my chart information in! I MUST KNOW WHAT MY FAVORITE ARTISTS ARE AT ALL TIMES. I'm sure we'll listen to lots of music on our Scone Road Trips this summer. I'm so psyched for those road trips and I'm praying I start to feel better soon (of course I'm sick again! Sick is my natural state of being, don't you know). We plan on going to:

1. Weeping Water, NE. About an hour's drive south of here; we're mainly going to get h4un73d by gh0sts, but also to sight-see! Who knows what we'll find?
2. Arbor Lodge. This is basically a mansion and an apple orchard in Nebraska City, founded by That Guy Whose Name I Forget. Blender Woman (you remember her from Contemporary Writers - she wrote the stupid essays on nature and home and her hair and garbage) made scathing remarks about him because he RUINED T3H N3BR4SK4 PR41R13 W/HIS ST00PID TR33S. Fuck those trees! How dare they give us fruit and oxygen!! Anyway, it's not like the prairie is any good on its own. Stupid miserable Midwest.
3. Bellevue. Not as much of a road trip, but it's a ways from my house. There's some Riverfest crap on the 21st-22nd, and there's this Olde Towne section with fun little shops, or so I have read on ... some website.

We might drive down to Lincoln (I HAVE HEARD THE LEGENDS of a two-storey Homers!!) or over into Iowa to see what it has to offer us, too.

Sconecon 2006 officially starts tomorrow night at 11:37 PM! That's the time Chesh's flight gets into Omaha, anyway. Provided it's not delayed. I got up around 3:30 (I suck!) and after coughing and hacking in the shower I immediately called for an appointment with the esteemed Dr. Banana, and it's at the crack of 9:10 AM. X\ I also have to see Vivian at 2 PM, and maybe I'll paint my wall between the two times. Or run errands. And I'll have to nap in the afternoon, I imagine. I just finished cleaning the basement - Smeg got all Motivated and began cleaning it last night and I went down to help her and we got it all straight and everything's been shuffled around and dusted and vacuumed and bathed in hot water. There's a whole bunch of bedding and floor cushions, and I moved the light blue loveseat against the north wall so now there's 2 couches in there and I used a foldout table to section off a sort of Scone Living Quarters. There's lots of space for suitcases and even a 3-tiered bookshelf for Veer, Sarah and Chesh to put 'girly crap' on, in Smeg's words.

Smeg went to the Oreck vacuum store by herself today and got the proper vacuum bags for both our models! And then Mom said we had some extra, so she felt defeated, but we only had one of one kind and like, 3 of another, so we're in good stead now. Why am I talking about vacuums? Because their sucky cleaning power is AWESOME.

I better continue vacuuming. I want to get all the cleaning done in here that I can and just leave the wall to do tomorrow. Maybe I'll finish cutting out and put up that rasterbated Suede poster, too.

HAPPY 23RD BIRTHDAY, NICHOLAS HAYNES!!! EVEN THOUGH YOU DON'T HAVE A LIVEJOURNAL ANYMORE!!!
