operation pierce my ears is success!

SO. It took about 2 years, but I finally got my ears pierced. First, we picked up Miss Dessy and then drove down to the stupid strip mall I swear we drove past 32 times yesterday, but never saw the shop. Destiny pointed it out and I'd initially overlooked it because the sign above it said something about DIABETES. We went in this corridor of concrete and there it was. We had to sit and wait for a long time, like 30 minutes, for this other girl to get pierced through her spleen or something (I don't know), and then the guy, Lee, came out and got my ID and crap. Then we went to the back, and I chose some 18g 16g (I just noticed on the care sheet that they're 16g. Weird!) captive bead rings and watched him sterilize everything. It met my approval - EVERYTHING was in little blue and plastic cellophane. I imagine everyone who goes there regularly already knows all this.

He marked the holes carefully after wiping some... cleany stuff on 'em, and then he had me breathe in and out and as I was breathing out, he punched the needle in. My right ear was just kind of a pinch, but the left one hurt like a bitch. I don't know why. He said he's heard that you experience pain more on your left side because that's where your heart is. And he knocked off $5 because I waited forever, so it was only $40 for the piercings AND earrings which is a lot less expensive than I thought it would be! sw33tn3ss. Lee was really, really nice and if I desired more holes in my body, I would definitely return. As it is, I'll probably only go back if there's some HUGE HORRIFIC PROBLEMZ OH NOEZ. But yeah, he was very nice and thorough and patient and helpful, and I appreciate that.

Ears!

Durh?

Aren't we cute and happy?? I haven't seen her in ages! And she's spending the night. w00t!

Dessy's Tom Robbins tattoo! She lent me the book tonight and once I'm done reading Love & Poison, I'll get right on it.

Dessy's adorable crimped hair!!

Jack came in to say hi, and sniffed Dessy's arms and legs carefully before flopping like a whale on the floor. THIS CAT IS FOLLOWING ME EVERYWHERE. I guess he decided that after biting both my hands, we're good now. Oookay.

Last night, my first schoolless night in a while, I spent the whole fucking night on The Tears forum, saving pictures of Brett and Bernard, and watching YouTube Suede and Bernard Butler videos. Bernard, whenever he posts something about Brett (the man loves talking on the internet, what can I say?), he calls him, "Madame," and it just fucking kills me. I got to watch "Stay" and "A Change Of Heart" last night and it was really fucking awesome, and then I watched Baby B&B performing "The Next Life" way back in the day. I got to see Bernard's hands move over the piano keys so I immediately went down and hacked out an off-tempo version using that and a sheet with the song's basic chords as my guide. r0x0r!!

I have to wait 4-6 weeks before I can change my earrings and I'm going to wear my sterling silver Brett Anderson hoops as soon as I can. I've actually been thinking about getting a Suede tattoo, even though my parents are HORRIFIED TO THE POINT OF TOTAL HORRIFICATION by any body modification other than earlobe piercings. I'm 20, though, and I could easily get one that's hidden once I have my own salary/car. I can do what I want with my money! I CAN FLY AAAAH.

I'm going to change out of this boobalicious halter top and go watch Breakfast On Pluto with Smeg & Dessy. And take some pain killers for my stupid ear. I love the piercings, though. I intend to make myself look a lot hawtter by year's end, provided I ever join a gym and ban junk food from my diet.
