Not enough weekend

Mar 08, 2004 01:35

Although not much beyond laundry was accomplished this weekend, it was very nice as it was the perfect mix of social time and alone time.

Now I don't want to point the finger of blame but I'm willing to bet my sore muscles stem in part from a little shopping excursion with dreago on Saturday. I'm not sure exactly what it was about traipsing around in a 90 degree Target with armfuls of stuff that was so funny, but we could hardly stand up straight for the laughing. Note to self: You will always need a cart at Target - don't try to pretend that you won't.

I had been all excited about watching Beyond the Valley of the Dolls but instead I ended up recording the 2:45am showing so I could still watch Headbanger's Ball because Iced Earth were going to be on and I really like their single. I kind of wonder if there's any similarities in what's going on in my life now and what was going on the last time I went through a metal phase. I haven't gone out and bought any new cds yet but it's only a matter of time.

I got to go out with Erin on Sunday, which mostly involved us sitting around chatting. Okay, there was also a sidetrip to Newbury Comics since they were having a big 25% off all dvds sale. I went a little nuts...
- Schoolhouse Rock
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Finding Nemo
- Muppets from Space
- set with The Wild Ride/Hot Rod Girl/T-Bird Gang/The Choppers (I *heart* teensploitation films)
- Social Engineering 201 - because I also have a love of old educational films. I'd already bought the special lunchbox set with 4 dvds but this is new and I can hardly wait to watch such gems as "What To Do on a Date" and "Kitty Cleans Up." I think I have a mild longing for a time when social behavior was more rigidly defined. Which is not to say that I'd follow the rules - it would just be nice to know ahead of time what was or was not acceptable and what the consequences were for deviation. I'm tired being uncertain whether my words/actions are charming or off-putting.
