Just a little different

That whole thing about watching tv in bed on New Years Eve? Yeah, that didn't happen. What happened was that Liz and Alex came over and we headed downtown. At our usual parade spot, we met up with Andrew, Erin, Heidi, Amy, the other Heidi, and a guy whose name I can't remember because I suck. The parade was as odd and rinky-dink as always with heads-on-sticks, tiny cars, 3 brass bands (old coots, middle-aged coots, and young coots), and crazy bikes/unicycles. Hurray for the year of the monkey!

After that we roamed through the closed-to-traffic streets of Boston down to the Common where we secured a primo location for the fireworks. I don't think I've ever been close enough before to see the ground displays. And the fireworks were so good and right in front of us and you could see them reflected on the high-rises. So cool! My face hurt from grinning.

Then we roamed some more. Down to Chinatown for a big meal and lots of chatting. Then there was more walking. Liz, Alex, and I got on the train to head back to my house - making it at 11:45. They came in to watch the ball drop and then took off. Then I talked to dreago on the phone till her hubby came home and I was ready to drop.

Today I hit the FAO Schwartz closing "no, really, this time we are closing" sale. Yep, Barbies. Now I've got the Tribe marathon on until... World Idol!!!
