I couldn't possibly be satisfied with the result of this game - however, i was pretty damn happy with the game itself. even though we lost, and it feels a bit stupid when your team loses AT HOME. then you cannot make any lame excuses about "losing beacause it was away", no. and i understand that very very often, albicelesti played more rigidly and more... precisely.
but Russians rocked too, didn't they?
the very beginning was somewhat splendid)))))
Arshavin was gorgeous as usual, even though he didn't score - but he was creating small and cute masterpices with eery pass and every step he took.
Akinfeev was really very good in a lot of moments of the game, even thow he concede thrice.
Semshov's goal was wonderful, Aguero's goal was spectacular, Lopez's goal made me feel sorta stupid, and upset, Datolo's goal was lovely, Pavlychenko's goal made it all taste less bitter.
and yet, didn't you feel something sweet about the game, the specks of sunshine on the pitch, the meeting of two friends called Diego and Guus and their teams playing a friendly yet fiery and flamboyant and thrilling game, and especially this moment, when Datolo scored, of course i couldn't be happy about that, but oh, how i loved his reaction and celebration:
but anyway, that's definitely not the result i would want, had this really been a World Cup final. despite all my love and respect to Diego Armando Maradona and his team, my heart is and will always be with my national team. they are, i think, the way Mike Dirnt says about Green Day: "When we're good, we're really good. When we're bad... we're still pretty damn good!"
