We got back on Saturday night so I was in a sleep coma yesterday. Today I woke up and uploaded the last round of photos.
(there aren't photos for each specific day of the rest of tour because some days were driving days, some places we stayed for 2 days, etc. So I grouped it by place!)
Virginia-
Some scenery along the way! We stayed somewhere along the way to South Carolina, then the next day stopped at a cafe to try to find shows.

Greeneville, SC-
First we played at Coffee Underground. The food there was delicious (especially after eating junky food for a lot of the trip). They had music in their back room that had a lot of seating and a small stage.

The people running everything there were really nice. Someone who held the bell up for us during the set signed us up to play down the street at a place called Smiley's Cafe, so after packing up, we headed there next.
Sarah and Darby played a set right before us and offered us a place to stay for the night. Sarah had to check out early but Darby hung around to talk and lead us to her house after the set. Darby's voice is amazing (very very chan marshall!) and is a great guitarist as well. We ended up hanging out for a while at her boyfriend's house. She and Dan both played a bit before we left for Darby's to crash.
We stayed over with a really strange hippie girl who was on tour with someone else from across the country. The next morning we went for junk food breakfast and said goodbye.
Asheville, North Carolina-
I think that this stop was probably the most beautiful of the entire tour. We were constantly surrounded by trees and mountains! Even when we got lost in the mountains looking for our hotel the first day, it was still gorgeous. The weather was great. Listening to Bowerbirds made it even better.
From the room
Family photo in the parking lot!
Then we headed into town to eat dinner at the Early Girl Eatery! (I should probably mention that Asheville was apparently rated the best vegan/vegetarian small city in the U.S., so I was in love, more or less)
black bean and sweet potato cakes with lime sour cream, mashed potatoes, cucumber salad, and a biscuit!
Dan had mountain trout
Mac and cheese!
We wandered around some more then went over to a gallery to play. This guy was probably the only one the entire night who wasn't the worst thing on earth! (everyone else sang awful songs about their younger alternate identities, black leather, sexin their old wives, or other awful things)
He played didgeridoo!
After that it was sleepytime. The next day we had breakfast at Early Girl (mine was grit cakes, poached eggs, tomato gravy, spinach, avocado!!) then checked out record stores and boutiques.
Then...
Tour tattoos!
Later we headed over to Admirals for dinner (place that changes their menu for each day of the week! So delicious (Chris and I had tempeh gyros with asparagus, Dan had meatloaf made with chorizo and bison or something?). Then we unloaded at the Rocket Club for our show with the Hellblinki Sextet and Voodoo Organist
The venue owner had this amazing dog who was so friendly and well-behaved!
It was fun to see the Hellblinki gents and lady since we haven't seen them in months. Andrew was our welcoming committee, and Valerie and Brad arrived a bit later.
It was fun to have another girl to get ready with before the show. It's funny to see her pre-show in baggy pants and a t-shirt and 20 minutes later in tights, a bustled skirt, makeup, and corset. What a babe...
Andrew is a freak of nature and somehow does a great job of playing drums and guitar, and sings, all at the same time.
Brad plays bass and keys
The big picture
The puppy came and slept on our stuff in back...so naturally we tortured him by putting a hat on him
Chris and the bartender fell in love
here is my favorite family photo of tour! Too good to have naturally occurred, but it did! The Scarring Party, Hellblinki Sextet, the Voodoo Organist:
Then we had a big sleepover with everyone (except Andrew) at Brad's huge apartment. Various activities occurring in the background...
In the morning we started the 8 hour drive to Indiana...ugh.
Indianapolis, IN-
At this point we were all dead tired, however, still a good day.
On the freeway leaving North Carolina someone in the car next to us held up a sign that said "Scarring Party band?" to which we were shocked and amazed and nodded a bunch, and he held up another sign that said "Smiley's!", the place we played in South Carolina. then we thumbs-upped and went our separate ways. What a weird weird thing...
We set up and played at Vibes Music in Indianapolis for record store day. It was a weird back house at a record store. Since it was so nice out people were grilling and drinking. Definitely a good day for record store day...
Then on the last 5 hour drive home after the set, the babies fell asleep
THE END!
When I got home, Adam had a surprise of tons of flowers waiting for me! So sweet!
Then for the next 24 hours we just sat around and watched movies, ate good food (aka SALAD), and relaxed. I had such an amazing time on tour and met tons of great new people. I'm very happy it worked out this time and I hope sometime in the distant future we're able to do it again!
Glad to be home :)
