Not too much to post at the moment, just working alot, learning alot. I applied for another manager position today. This one is for the Overnight Support Manager position. Its the highest level I can be as an hourly paid employee, all the other managers are salary. It will be like 50 hours a week, but its all at night, so it will be cool. I have long been a night person, so I think this will be good awesome if I get it. Basically my job duties would be to supervise the entire overnight crew. The Stockers, The maintence crew, the Truck unloaders and thats all. We don't have cashiers since we are not a 24 hour walmart. I won't have to do anything with money, except for 1 cash register for anyone that wants to shop or buy snacks on their lunch hour. I would handle the nightly meetings, plan out the strategic stocking for the weeks, and months. I would also give everyone their nightly assignments, and handle general manager duties like accepting a truck delivery, paperwork, mentoring the employees, doing interviews and hiring new people. I talked to the current overnight support manager, as well as the overnight assistant manager and they said basically I would be running the entire store at night. Its a big responsibility, and a stressful job, but I know I can handle it.
Worse comes to worse, I can't handle the job, I step down and do something else. Its a pretty simple process
I've got 2 days off starting tomorrow, and tomorrow is pay day. I'm excited, and ready for a rest after the last 6 days in a row.
