Another long weekend...
Nothing too terribly interesting happend this weekend. I worked on Saturday and Sunday, Sunday was pretty different. I was scheduled in at 10:30am, instead I get a call from one of the managers at 8:30am, asking if I could come in early, cause Rob called in sick. I said sure I'll be there as soon as I can. I got there at 9:30ish, my mananger came up to me and said hey.. we need you to work on a project for us. I ended up doing the comparison price changes for the whole damn store. Technically Im not supposed to do that, since its a management thing, that you have to have manager level access on the computers to do. Well to make a long story short, I now have manager level access to most of the stores Merchandise System. I can do price changes, I make items clearance, I can stop items from being sold in the store, I can order more of something, or order things we don't have.
When I learned myself how to do all this stuff today, I got to work and got it done. My manager was really happy and told me he was going to teach more stuff, and have me work on more things, that technically Im not supposed to be able to do. I told him that it was cool, since I didn't plan on staying put where I was, so learning this stuff now will make my transition into management more smooth. He agreed then visioned me as a success story, someone that started out on the bottem, and worked his way up the company. I thought that was funny. and I left.
