What brought on this post? I have an observation to add:

"The Virginia Plan and the New Jersey plan differ in the composure of the governments they proposed. The Virginia Plan called for a new government with 3 branches; legislative, executive, and judicial and the congress would be bicameral. The States would be represented based on their population or upon the amount of money it gave for the support of the federal government. In contrast, the New Jersey plan preferred a unicameral congress and the states would be equally represented. In retrospect, the Virginia plan is much like our current government. It mandated increasing authority for the Federal government. Along with the State officers guarenteeing to uphold a republican form of government."

I haven't studied this that I can remember from my school days but it seems to me both plans were adopted in respect to Congress, with the House of Representatives representing the Virginia Plan with the number of state representatives determined by population, and the Senate representing the New Jersey Plan with each State having 2 Senators.

It would seem to me they came up with a compromise?
