Don't wanna be an American Idiot.

Absolutely no movies to report on. No, wait, I saw The Brown Bunny on Tuesday and Dig! on Wednesday. A review of the latter will be out this or next Friday. The former is better than its old reputation, but not quite as good as its new reputation. Vincent Gallo’s ego slightly exceeds his talent, and The Brown Bunny is pretentious and minor, but it really socked me at the end.

I go to the movies by myself all the time, but I’m usually one of the only ones in the theater who seems to be alone. Out of about thirty people at The Brown Bunny, I’d say at least a third of them, maybe half (including me), were there alone.

On Thursday night, Marisa and I took the train to Saratoga to meet up with Rob. On Friday-my brother’s birthday- we had breakfast with my mom and my sister, and then went with my dad to Compton’s, the diner where my brother works. I brought him the Star Wars trilogy on DVD. He was working so we didn’t get to see his new apartment.

Then Mar and I went with Rob and Sabrina to Rhode Island. We got from Rob’s driveway to the front of the tux place in just about four hours flat, and Rob and/or Sabrina had to pee for approximately two of those, plus about an hour afterward. I don’t know if I’m so impressed with zen Rhode Island tux guy anymore: my tux pants were too short. Less zen Rhode Island tux lady got me a better pair.

After finding out that Rhode Island has one known public bathroom, we went to the rehearsal. The other groomsmen and I had to rehearse walking slow. I walked the slowest. That was good. Rob did his reading, Chris got stuck in traffic and didn’t, and it was off to yet another part of Rhode Island for the clambake. We four hung out with Chris, as well as Jeff and Amy, at Jeff’s beach house.

Then we drove back to Massachusetts to stay at casa de los Jeff.

I’ll write about the wedding later or tomorrow, I have to go see Primer now. But I’ll leave you with:

Fine gifts:
Monty Python livestock catapult toy, from my dad.
The aforementioned Star Wars DVDs, from my mom.
The new Cure album, from my mom.
Mean Girls and The Big Lebowski on DVD, from my sister..
Green Day’s American Idiot, also from my sister.
Nalgene (sic?) bottle full of a ton of sweet gear from Jeff for my groomsman duties. This includes a mini LED light, a bungee cord, and a space pen (!!).

Food eaten:
One Subway meal
Approx. one half of one bag of Sun Chips, split with Marisa
Three bagels with cream cheese
Three donuts
One milkshake, made by my brother
Approx. 12 Chicken McNuggets, breaking v. long no-McDonald’s streak
Several McDonald’s fries (but not the whole thing)
One bowl of clam chowdah
Approx. eight clams
Approx. one quarter of one lobster (I don’t really like tearing them apart)
Approx. 6,000 delicious Italian cookies
One ham and cheese sandwich made by Jeff’s mom!
One complete wedding meal (soup, salad, chicken, shrimp, cake, ice cream-probably the best wedding meal I’ve had, definitely in the top two)
One plate of pad thai
One moosetracks ice cream cone
One McDonald’s cheeseburger (breaking v. short no-McDonald’s streak)
Approx. 12 french fries
One toasted cheese sandwich
Several small pieces of shower cake, including one for breakfast this morning

Marisa and Jesse on my impending livejournal update:

JESSE: Don’t hold your breath.
MARISA: You can’t tell me what to do!
