Andrew and Michael both turned thirty this month, so in celebration Michael & Kate and Andrew & (another) Kate and Tom & Maggie and Marisa & I went to Mike's family's house in the Berkshires for this weekend to celebrate aging with gluttony and a touch of sloth. Andrew, Mike, and Tom are all friends from high school. I find that in addition to enjoying hanging out with my friends from high school, I enjoy hanging out with other groups of people who have known each other a long time, or maybe I just think that because these guys are really fun to hang out with, and talk about the horse graveyard near the property and the accompanying ghost horses. And who sleeps in the murder room.

As with our trip to Amanda's Berkshires house last summer, a big focus of this trip was eating. We got in some outdoors enjoyment with a hike (Andrew, Mike, and Tom have all done serious hiking, which made me feel like a serious hiker going with them, even though the most treacherous aspect of this trail was some mud) and some throwing things around on the lawn outside, but mainly we made and consumed food, by which I mean, other people did a lot of good cooking, and I helped frost (and eat) a cake. There were also cupcakes. And four kinds of ice cream. We also, though in the country, found time to watch the season finale of SNL, as we do.

Probably the best way to do this weekend justice is pictures so, pictures:
