So you may have heard that Pavement is reuniting. And selling tickets to a Central Park gig they're playing over a year in advance. Thoughts

Usually when Oasis "breaks up," it's Liam having the tantrum who fucks off to Indonesia or whatever, leaving everyone else to stand around wondering why his tambourine looks so sad. So I'm kind of thinking this might last awhile. Maybe it'll lead to Noel doing some solo work. Which would delight me to no end.

Wait, no, incorrect. Think Tank is probably their second or third best album and 13 is half-amazing. It goes like this:
1. Blur 2. Parklife 3. Think Tank 4. The Great Escape 5. 13 6. Modern Life is Rubbish 7. Leisure
And Parklife only really moved up as I grew to love "To the End" and "This is a Low" which don't entirely (though almost) make up for the fact that the album is ridiculously top-heavy. Which most of their albums are, save the self-titled and Think Tank.

I like Blur a lot, but I think they are a singles band (except Park Life). I rarely listen to CDs anymore, but when I listen to Blur (except Best Of), I do a lot of skipping songs. I didn't like Think Tank at all!

They do have amazing singles (even though I had all of the albums, I was tempted to get that Best Of at the time just because it was so amazingly perfect). But they are too good to be a singles band!

1) i was at a quiz night at a random pub in london on monday, and one of the "name that song" songs was "stereo". it's been stuck in my head since then.
2) when i heard about the oasis "break up" i could only think of that mix tape you gave me where all the filler is liam and noel cursing at each other.

RE: #2, awesome! It is with a sense of moderate shame that I'd guess that Oasis is probably the artist I've done the ol' single-artist-mix thing with the most times (you'd think it would be TMBG, since they could actually sustain several, but no). Also, I'm pretty sure the interview CD from which I drew said cursing charted in England.
