Rob and Marisa and I and Kyla and Katie and Tim and Craig and Rayme and Ben and Lorraina were like the drums on "Lust for Life." The Hold Steady and the Drive-By Truckers played their second night at Terminal 5. The Drive-By Truckers went first. Oh Man!!! I'm so jealous they played You Have to Dance With Who You Came With and First Night and How a Resurrection Really Feels for you. SO AWESOME!

There were a bunch of old dudes with dubious sleeves at Thursday's show, too.

I barely recognized "Dance" at first because I've only heard the acoustic one they put out on that EP. I also mistook "Cheyenne Sunrise" for "Arms and Hearts," but then they actually played "Arms and Hearts." "Resurrection" was amazing. Interesting that they managed to play 3/4 of their album-closing tracks.

History Lesson Part II sbennett3 November 8 2008, 21:28:56 UTC
I think the song that THS played was History Lesson Part II, which starts out "Our Band Could Be Your Life."

I went all tingly when I heard the opening guitar part. So awesome.

The first THS+DBT song was some bluesy number that I didn't recognize.

Sorry we missed you at the end, but we split early. I was supposed to get up at 6 to watch a soccer match. That didn't happen.

Oh, Rock 'n Roll . . .

Also, I've never been to a rock show where bands were calling out and people were cheering the elections before . . .

Oh, I didn't realize that the "Our Band" thing was also part of the Minutemen song! I bought Double Nickels on the Dime last month but haven't listened to it yet. I'm going to alter the set list in my post because I forgot "Lord, I'm Discouraged" and "Party Pit."
