Yeah they howl as though the world were ending

I've been meaning to do this for awhile now but I only started loading a lot of stuff into iTunes last year so for awhile the top songs were all on this one playlist I made in like January ('07). But because I like lists, peep and prepare for total lack of surprise:

Top 25 Most-Played Songs on Jesse's iTunes (June 2006-present)
1. "Pull Shapes" - The Pipettes
2. "Jack Killed Mom" - Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins
3. "Girlfriend" - Avril Lavigne
4. "Your Cover's Blown" - Belle and Sebastian
5. "Honestly" - Palomar*
6. "Adventure" - Be Your Own Pet
7. "The News from Your Bed" - Bishop Allen
8. "Paradise" - Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins
9. "Acid Tongue" - Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins
10. "Like Castanets" - Bishop Allen**
11. "Police Sweater Blood Vow" - The Fiery Furnaces
12. "Weekend in Western Illinois" - The Mountain Goats
13. "Sax Rohmer #1" - The Mountain Goats***
14. "The Truth About Cats and Dogs (Is That They Die)" - Pony Up!
15. "Silver Lining" - Rilo Kiley
16. "Fireworks" - The Tragically Hip
17. "Post Soothing Out" - Art Brut
18. "Irreplaceable" - Beyonce
19. "The Monitor" - Bishop Allen****
20. "Corazon" - Bishop Allen****
21. "Middle Management" - Bishop Allen****
22. "O Valencia!" - The Decemberists
23. "Knuckles" - The Hold Steady
24. "Chips Ahoy!" - The Hold Steady
25. "The Zookeeper's Boy" - Mew*****

*For awhile, my iTunes was basically a lot of one-off songs plus the Palomar 3.5 EP. This song comes from there but I'm not sure why it got so far ahead of its bretheren as my favorite song on the EP is "Stay Out Late."
**Again, I'm not sure why this song in particular racked up so many plays. It's good but over half of The Broken String is even better.
***I only downloaded this song a couple of weeks before the album came out so this is a notable achievement.
****Now that's more like it. Bishop Allen in Williamsburg on 5/16, who's with me?
*****Nothing against Mew, but it's officially been over a year since I listened to this song. That January '07 playlist really jacked things up.

Also, the songs that I've listened to seven times are in an endless tussle for position on this list based on whatever's been played most recently (without the most-recent distinction, 17-25 above are actually just the first half of an eighteen-way tie). "Rockers to Swalllow" and the best songs on Challengers are pissed!

Also, I just finished loading eleven Mountain Goats albums so we'll see how that messes with this going forward.

Also, I can't decide whether to hold off on talking about Heretic Pride until the rest of this spring's albums come out.

Also, my girlfriend helped kill quarterlife and should probably be thanked/congratulated/etc. You can check her out on Metacritic, pulling the numbers down.

Also, I got up at 5:45 this morning so maybe I should go to bed.
