Someone's listening in

So there's this new Radiohead album that I downloaded this morning for three bucks and burned to a couple of CDs because (a.) I have no ipod and (b.) I was paranoid that my CD burner would fuck up the first time and I've listened to it a few times. It's too early to react to In Rainbows itself (well, maybe I can a little: Guys! Look at you, rocking the up-tempo! While the world is still going to hell, no less!) but what it really made me think about how after a bunch more listens I'm going to want to sit down and talk to some people about it, like what I really want is to get Rob and Jeff and Chris and Derrick and Sara C and Marisa and Tim D in a room and just talk this thing out. (Sidebar: Rob, do we even know how Derrick is handling this "just a download for now" thing? Should I send him my spare copy?) Like how I need to see new Spider-Man movies with Rob or discuss the new Fiery Furnaces record with Derrick or ask Anne S if she read The Time Traveler's Wife (note to self, do that last one). Except on a bigger scale. Like a conference call or something. Or a radio show -- it's too bad I don't have a radio show anymore. I feel like this could be a good panel discussion. In the absence of this I will probably just listen to this album a thousand times in the next week and then bug Marisa about it.
