Little babies, let's GO!

No time to argue, Arcade Fire @ United Palace up in Washington Heights, let's go!! Approximately:

Keep the Car Running
No Cars Go
EDIT: Une annee sans lumiere Haiti (so says a Brooklyn Vegan commenter who is probably right)
Black Mirror
Neighborhood #2 (Laika)
In the Backseat
My Body is a Cage
The Well and the Lighthouse
Ocean of Noise
Antichrist Television Blues
Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)
Rebellion (Lies)
----
Intervention
Wake Up

Apart from the best part where "Neighborhood #3" got a noisy extension that went BAM into "Rebellion," the other best part was that there's some guy in the band, I don't know his name, not the one who looks like Michael Pitt or the one who looks like Napoleon Dynamite or the wife or the player of any fancy instruments, who would be off way stage-left most of the time and everytime I looked over at him he would be playing a different instrument. With gusto. You look over and he's whaling on some keyboards and then you check out what Winn is doing or look at the monitors, and then you look back and he's playing marching-band-style cymbals.

Also, they played "In the Backseat" and "My Body is a Cage," two of my favorite underrated songs of theirs. Right in a row, too.

The United Palace is beautiful but also seated and enormous so I feel this experience was somewhat less immersive and immediate than some lesser shows where I was a lot closer. However, the music sounded gigantic and our seats were pretty OK so the whole thing was pretty peachy. Plus I saw The National. They were pretty good. I should check them out.

Now then. Who wants to go see the Fiery Furnaces with me very near my apartment? (July 1st.)

Nower then. Veronica Mars and a popsicle await. If I didn't have a job* my life would be amazing.

*But lost no money.
