Speaking of shoes, I don't care about shoes.

One sucky thing about living in NYC is the speed at which I wear through my sneakers. Most pairs don't make it to two years before holes start showing up. My current shoe situation is getting pretty dire, so it's time to stop waiting for good deals and start thinking about just sucking it up and getting a new pair of sneakers before winter comes.

That's where you people come in. Last time I did this (less than two years ago), I gave you two choices. This time, it's far less clear cut. Price is, for the most part, not a consideration, because all of these are basically $65. Give or take some dollars here or there, but once sneakers stretch past the $60 mark for me, it stops making a big difference for some reason. The only consideration here is fashion. Which, you may remember from a previous post, for me involves band shirts with monkeys on them.

Contrary to the evidence below, I don't insist on Pumas. They're just the ones that most frequently meet my standards: (a.) cool colors, (b.) relative inexpensiveness, (c.) won't destroy my feet despite (a.) and (b.).

Pros: I like red; red is great; red is the best.
Cons: Almost the same shoes I have now; Rob will inevitably claim that I stole the idea of red shoes from him. Presumably using a time machine.

Pros: The exact same shoes I have now, but in blue.
Cons: The exact same shoes I have now, but in blue.

Pros: It's hard to find sneakers where the supporting color isn't dull; somewhat different from my last few pairs.
Cons: Could be garish?

Pros: I had a pair of green sneakers once, and liked them a lot; it would break the red and blue rotation I otherwise have going.
Cons: Green isn't my favorite color; green + wear will = brown.

Pros: I kinda love the color combination.
Cons: OK, maybe a little bit girly.

Pros: Breaks the Puma habit.
Cons: Like Pumas, but pricier.

Have it, fashionistas and fashionistos.
