Yay Munich! It was counted out and got three big ones. Though the lack of a cinematography nomination is sad and annoying.

I totally called Keira Knightley. However, I totally did not call the pair of North Country actresses, who are both fine-or-better, but really, who felt that sense of obligation that obviously led to nominations? Especially Frances McDormand, and I consider her one of the best actresses working today. It seems a nomination based so much on "award-performance" expectations more than real appreciation of the work. However:

I'm surprised people remembered William Hurt. That seemed like such a critics' choice that actual Academy members wouldn't necessarily regard.
Um, so apparently the visual effects in Narnia were better than those in Revenge of the Sith? Idiots.
Picture/director matchup is five-for-five for the first time in... how many years? Decades?
