Character Information:

Character Name: Claudia Donovan
Age: 20
Canon: Warehouse 13
Appearance:

Claudia is slender, young Caucasian woman who stands 5'5". With red hair which falls just past her chin which has a streak of color in it, brown eyes and pale skin, she really doesn't have to do much with her appearance to stand out - but she does with the clothing she wears. She likes to think of her style as unique, but it's actually a mix between punk and rock - but totally fits her personality.

Personality:

Claudia has been described as brash, rude, antisocial and impulsive. While it is in a way true, it is far from being entirely accurate. She is brash and impulsive and she has a habit of rushing into things without fully thinking them through - like the time she thought it would be a good idea to use Alessandro Volta's lab coat and accompanying safety goggles. She ended up getting stuck to one of the warehouse beams due to the coat's bio magnetic attraction and was saved by Artie's ingenuity from being crushed to death by the numerous amounts of metallic objects it kept attracting. Most of the time though, her brains help her get out of any trouble she might find herself in and if it doesn't, she kind of relies on her colleagues to help her out. She can be rude, as she has no problem telling people what she really thinks them, like when she straight out tells Lena that she basically sucks after it came out that Lena had been masquerading as Claudia (though it wasn't her fault, she'd been under mind control). Or even the first time she met Lena and told her she didn't like her, even though at that point in time she had no reason not to. She's even been known to insert herself into people's chess games without their permission and make their moves for them.

She doesn't really relate to people her own age, and maybe that's where the anti-social part came from. She doesn't think the way people her own age do, and she doesn't really find the things they find interesting well... interesting. Artie once asked her wouldn't she rather be with people her own age and she promptly told him that she wasn't her own age. She's interested in computers and electronics and would much prefer hacking into something than gossiping over celebrities. She doesn't get the things people her age tend to be interested in, and honestly has no desire to. Because of this, for the most part she doesn't know what to say to people her age, doesn't know how to relate to them. The way she grew up factors a lot into this; being raised by her older brother who was interested in science and therefore getting her interested in it as well. Growing up in foster homes after her brother disappeared also contributed to this, she was shuffled from home to home so often that she grew afraid to form bonds with anyone and in effect kept herself at a safe distance, preferring to keep to herself at school, ignoring the normal school cliques and indulged in the things that interested her and in school in general. Her intelligence is another small factor, she was never quite able to dumb herself down enough to interact with the 'normal' kids in the schools she attended, and would end up talking over peoples heads if she found herself in a conversation with one of them. Part of it was intentional, her wanting to see if others were worth her time, but a lot of it wasn't. She can't help how smart she is, and refuses to pretend she isn't. Being part of the Warehouse 13 team doesn't really help her relate to people her age either. She's surrounded by people who are older than her, and involved in projects and missions that most would never even come close to understanding.

Claudia needs to be around people who are willing to look past all her little defense blocks - snarky comments, general picking ons and find the young woman who is really just looking to form solid connections with people. It's really not that hard to get past her blocks - honesty: being straight up and no bullshitting is the main one. Good sense of humor and a love of computers and electronics in general is another one. Computer geek speak is a good way to catch her attention and actually consider getting to know said person.

While she likes to think that she's self-reliant and independent, she really does need the approval of her colleagues - mainly from Artie and Pete, whom she sees as a father and a brother figure. She sees Myka as an older sister figure, and was deeply saddned when Myka quit the warehouse due to H.G. Wells almost destroying the world. She was beyond happy when Myka decided to come back to work. Leena, she has a complicated relationship which has mellowed out to something of a friendship. The latest agent, Steve Jinks, she's grown extremely close to and considers to be her BFF, and despite the fact that he was fired, she still thinks of him as best friend and family and constantly sends him text messages and calls him whenever she can. This is probably due to the fact that for the longest time she didn't have any sort of family and had to do everything for herself. She sees the Warehouse and those who she works with as her family and would do anything for them, even if she likes to bicker and pick on them. Being part of the Warehouse 'family' has been extremely good for Claudia, and she's grown greatly as a person because of it. She's become more outgoing and tends to think of others before herself. Also, it's helped her realize that she truly wants to be a warehouse agent, which she's gone to great lengths to prove to Artie. She's even considering taking classes at South Dakota University so she can become a TRUE adgent, thanks to some prodding by Myka.

She is seriously intelligent, which most people don't know when they meet her... Or even after they've known her for a while. Her IQ is genius level, and even though she's never gone to college, she has a way with computers and electronics in general - this is the reason she has become the Warehouse Tech Girl and why she's now a junior agent. She's proud of her skills and often boasts about having 'mad' hacker skills. She (with the help of McPherson) managed to hack her way into the highly encrypted highly secured Warehouse computer system. She loves trying to update the seriously outdated warehouse technology and sometimes gets in trouble when Artie catches her. Normally though, her updates help the warehouse out more than Artie would obviously ever admit.

Her relationship with her brother, Joshua, is very strong. She's always appreciated the fact that he basically gave up his life to raise her (she claimed that it was him who took her to Girl Scouts and would braid her hair.) after their parents died and was devastated and felt immensely guilty when he 'died' during a failed experiment. Though, when she figured out that he wasn't dead, but was in fact stuck in an inter dimensional limbo, she stubbornly began to study every aspect of his experiment, trying to find a way to save him. Even when she couldn't get the experiment right, and was in fact becoming seriously ill being drained by Joshua each time he visited, she refused to even think about giving up. Her love and need to save Joshua pushed her to break the law and hack into a highly secured top secret government agency's computer in order to find Artie and kidnap him, all in the hope that he would be able to help. Even after Joshua was saved, Claudia refused to give up on him, and pushed him to do things with his life,in a way acting as though she were the older sister. And now with him working on a different Continent, Claudia is still close to him, and even though they don't see each other as much as she would like, she's just relieved that he's alive and not stuck in inter dimensional limbo.

Special Abilities:

Claudia is the Warehouse's "tech girl," lending her 'kick-ass mad' computer hacking skills and technological skills to Warehouse 13. A lot of the gadgets Pete and Myka have used in the field have been "Claudia Donovan Originals"; she has created handcuffs capable of delivering a 20,000 volt charge, gloves which discharged energy absorbed by an artifact suit (though tended to make guys impotent), and a communicator to interact with people in a virtual reality console. She's also very, very quick to understand and adapt Warehouse-grade (dinosaur stone-age) technology to her devices... Plus she also made a 'lightsaber' once. TRUFAX!

She's learned some martial art moves from Myka, and while she is no black belt, she's able to throw a someone larger than her over her should like a ninja if she has to. She's also a pretty decent musician - singing and having taught herself to play the guitar. Pete managed to push her into an open mic night. She's a little bashful about her music skills, though it's been something she's working on.

Sect:

Civilian - but she'd totally want to work at being a Jedi!!!!!

Job:

Some sort of techie!

First Person:

[The feed flickers to life after Claudia accidentally bumps the table it's propped up on. Don't ask her how a bump would turn the device on, because she has no idea.]

Well, at least it doesn't make my ass look big... And it's not like part of the hooker-line. But... Hmmm. I dunno.

[Oh yeah, Claudia's preening in front of a mirror, wearing a dress she picked up after deciding that that one chick, you know, that one, was right. It wouldn't kill her to have at least one, just in case.

She turns from side to side, her neck craning to check herself out in every angle possible. After a few minutes of that, she turned to the mirror and grins, raising her hand and doing the all famous beauty queen wave. When she speaks she has a very southern accent, which of course is fake.]

And none of this would have been possible without the undying love and support of my family. [She makes a fake sobbing noise before drawing in a deep breath.] And of course I just hope I'm able to help with world peace! And to help our children, because...

I believe the children are our are future! Teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside....

[Oh yes, she'd totally just broken out Whitney Houston. AND WHAT?!

It takes her a few moments and then she realizes that she is indeed broadcasting to everyone ever.

Headdesk is a go!]

Ok! So, no one actually saw that... It was totally a figment of your imagination.

Third Person:

Bored and seriously needing a way to distract herself from knowing she was literally stuck in some sort of hell, Claudia had decided that the underground city did indeed warrant more exploring. Blah blah blah, she'd heard the warning of not exploring on one's own. But C'MON! Underground... City... Lots of dead people hangin' around! How'd they just expect her to sit around???

She'd walked into some random building (c'mon, it wasn't like each of them hand signs or anything), and realized that she must have stumbled across some sort of storage area. Grinning, she peeked inside and seeing that there was no one else inside, sauntered in and looked around with wide eyes.

"Dude no way!" she squealed her gaze falling on various objects that she recognized from various movies - well greek-ish type ones.

"Sweeeeeeeeeet!" Man, Artie would go nuts in this place! Her eyes widened as she slowly walked around the room, her fingers trailing along various objects and her mouth seemed to be twisted up in a perma grin. This was waaaaaaaaay too cool!

Hearing a noise behind her, Claudia suddenly spun around and her elbow caught the edge of a cage -sending it crashing to the ground. Wincing, she looked around, hoping that no one had heard the sound. Well since no one had come barreling in demanding to know what was going on, she seemed safe at the moment...

Or so she thought.... Until she heard a whimpering sound coming from around her feet.

Looking down, she smiled seeing what looked like a fuzzy ball of fur looking up at her with the most pathetic eyes she'd ever seen. "Awwwwwwwww! Aren't you cuúuuuuuuute?!" Claudia cooed and leaned over to pick it up. It looked oddly like Fizzgig from The Dark Crystal and awww! It was too sweet! But as she reached for it, the fur ball snarled at her and snapped at her with a row of very sharp, very pointy teeth.

"Hey! What the-" Claudia cried, snatching her hand back before the creature could latch onto it. "So NOT cute! HEY!" She squealed, jumping back as it snapped at her ankles. "AHHHHHHHHH!" She quickly jumped up onto one of the tables just as the ball of fluff decided that her ankles would make a most excellent snack.

Peering over the edge of the table, Claudia scowled down at the furry thing. "Not cool! So not cool...." She sighed, her gaze drifting toward the door. NOW would be a good time for someone to actually come in. Nooooooooow would be good....

Or now...

"Helloooooooooooooooo??? A little help here! Someone? ANYONE?!"
