So, of course, they go see the tree lighting at Rockefeller Center per Rachel’s insistence. She can’t pretend it’s not even a little magical, because Rachel sort of carries magic in her back pocket. They’re not really into PDA other than holding hands and an occasional arm around a waist, but she kind of has to kiss her when those lights come on.
She scores them tickets to The Nutcracker, which, legit, and oddly, earns her some of the best sex of her life. Rachel’s like, weirdly in love with the holidays, but Santana doesn’t question it because orgasms.
She fucking hates baking but Rachel makes these delicious sugar cookies shaped like lights, trees and candy canes and little gingerbread kids and after being cuffed in the back of the head for eating two of them she finds out she’s not so bad at decorating them. Rachel’s all impressed and asking Santana for tips, which, yeah, she’s a little smug about. She just kisses her girl and then globs icing on her cheek. That earns her a speech how immature she is until she thumbs it away and licks it off her finger.
They spend a Saturday curled up on the couch under blankets with peppermint cocoa and a tub of popcorn watching holiday movies and making out.
It’s a good break, in all. She gets zero play the weekend Rachel’s dads are in town but they take her and Rachel to dinner. She and Rachel’s dad eat steak and lobster tails because he values meat as much as she does and make jokes about Rachel and her daddy. So, that’s fun and she finds out the Leroy enjoys a good glass of Patron, too, so there’s that. She makes good life choices, okay?
She and Mike throw a New Year’s party and Rachel asks if she’s going to skip out on her to kiss a girl in her kitchen at midnight. She just laughs and tells Rachel there’s no way she’s won’t be in the middle of removing the short as sin sequin skirt Rachel’s wearing at midnight.
