They have a puppy named Yoshi who sleeps more than the three of them combined. He’s a dachshund but Santana thinks calling him a wiener dog is funnier. If it were up to her they’d have something bigger like a Lab or a Pit but she wasn’t there when Mike and Sam picked him out and they’re basically pansies.

She guesses it’s kind of good they don’t have a big dog since the little thing likes sleeping in her bed and waking her up by crawling up her back and onto her head. She thinks he likes her shampoo because he always nuzzles his wet nose against her scalp.

He’s knocked out, curled into a little ball of brown, on the arm of the couch when they walk (stumble) into their apartment. He doesn’t budge even though Sam is loud and laughing in her ear.

“Yoshi,” Mike slurs and she just shakes her head. Leave it to the nerds to name him after a little green dragon or whatever. It’s practically law that he’s in the room when they break out the Super Nintendo. God, what is her life?

“Mike, shut up,” she says because maybe if he stays sleeping she can have a bed to herself without worrying about possibly squishing him. He sort of reminds her of Rachel except his body is long instead of his legs. She told her once and got elbowed, so, she never mentioned it again but she definitely still thinks it.

Sam just keeps laughing. He hasn’t stopped leaning on her since they left the bar. She shoves him toward the couch and heads to the kitchen, grabs three Gatorades. She keeps the last blue one for herself and hands over the red ones to the Toon Squad.

“Leave the damn dog alone and play Zelda or something,” she says. “I’m going to do my hair.”

Mike grabs the remote and hits input like seven times to get to the right game system. She just rolls her eyes and heads for her bathroom. It’s basically tomorrow already, like 3:30 in the morning but she knows she’s not about to flatiron it in the morning. She might as well get it done before a hangover comes her way.

She hears a small bark coming from the living room and she can almost see Sam’s mouth making that stupid Super Mario Bros. tune.

“Seriously,” she says loudly when Yoshi comes trotting past the bathroom and heads straight for her room. “I don’t like anyone in this house.”

“We love you too,” Sam calls back.

Santana and Yoshi know the other guys are idiots. <3 Loved the little Santana/Rachel nod in there, too. ;)
