Zacharias loved parties, especially when he was throwing them. Granted, that meant he wasn't going to be drinking nearly as much as he wanted, but someone had to make sure no one blew his house up. He'd delegated bartenders to Daphne, a fair bit of decorating to Mandy, and made Megan entertain him. He sort of felt bad asking them to do anything

"Riah, there you are!" she said, finding him as she wandered into one of the main spaces. After the party began to fill up they had gone their separate ways. She gave him a big smile, her head fuzzy from all the champagne.

Thus, the reason he liked parties. Being the center of attention was the only place he knew how to be.
He looked her over and offered up a slow smirk. "Have I mentioned how hot you look? Because, yeah. Damn."

"It seemed appropriate for this kind of party," she grinned. She quickly finished off what was in her cup then looked around for a bartender.
"But I would imagine you haven't had nearly enough to drink playing host! I want to fix that."

"Trying to get my drunk? Makes me think you plan on getting me into trouble." Not that he minded, but he was known for finding his own trouble.

She grabbed two drinks from a bartender passing by and handed one out to Riah. If she was going to have to wait for Terry, she might as well do it having the time of her life. No point worrying until the moment he arrived.
"Don't make me drink both of them."

He took the glass and tilted it toward her. "Cheers." It wasn't his favorite drink, but Zacharias wasn't actually all that picky about alcohol. Granted, he had a thing for mimosas in the morning, but that just made sense.
After he took a drink, Zacharias motioned around the room. "I'd figure you'd be causing a scene or inciting a riot by now." The way she was dressed, it was a logical leap. Daphne wasn't really playing up to her high and mighty image at the moment. It was sort of refreshing even if Zacharias liked her regardless.

"Maybe after a few more drinks I'll cook something up," she told him, fixing her hair. "Right now I'm too sober."
But then again, after that last drink, she did feel her head go a little fuzzy. It was a pleasant feeling.

Waving a glass got another tray circulated toward them. Zacharias pulled two drinks down and handed Daphne one.
"You know what? I feel cheated. I seem to remember you promising to dance on a bar once."
Reply
"That is something I've never done before...and will only do if you join me." If he wanted her up there so bad, he was coming along for the ride.

Daphne definitely caught him off guard enough to get a very real, very startled laugh out of him. He finished half his drink and rolled his eyes. "You say that like I wouldn't do it. Anything to cause a scene. You know me."
Reply
"I may even work up to causing scenes on my own if you teach me properly."

Either way, he had to see how far this bad girl side of hers was going to extend.

"Depends how good you are, doesn't it?"

"Let's find out then," she grinned, pulling him towards a sturdy looking coffee table. Maybe it wasn't as tall as bar table but it would definitely let them be seen above everyone else.

As it happened, they were in luck and the song changed to something with a perfect beat for something this ridiculous.
