Homemade Cookies & Driving Dindi

Struck Dumb
Waking up: it's a shock.
Sleeping: it's dreaming, it's traveling, it's easy.
But waking,
Waking up on earth,
It's amazing.
Every morning: an event.
Every morning, ordinary.
I look, wanting to find "perfect."
But there is no "perfect."
Except sometimes -
A few seconds -- they are perfect.
-Jean Claude van Itallie

So this weekend was kinda long... but now I wish tomorrow was another Sunday. Friday I stayed the night at Carolyn's with Lucy (her roomie) and Lucy's sister and her friend. It was kinda fun. I even drank a wine cooler. That's right folks - I finished my first drink! Haha... and it was a girly one, too... so maybe it isn't such a big deal. Oh, well. I really do think I felt some of the effects, though. Haha.
Saturday, Carolyn and I went to COYO to watch the conductor, which was alright. The choir was pretty good, but the director wasn't too friendly. So that was over and we headed to Cincy. The drive was long and a big pain in the butt. Snowy the whole time - and I know how to drive in the snow. But everyone else doesn't. Grrrrr. When we got home, though, Mom made potato skins. YUM. And I got my video from Ooolation! (I'm in some of the pics, I think), so we watched that. Bob was bored with it, but I thought it was fun :-) I enjoy it.
Sunday, we got up and watched my band competition tapes. Good times. Mom made us some chocolate chip cookies to take back to Hiram... we'll see how long they last. I ran to work to get processing done, got my ID (and a Puffkin 'cause I answered questions right). Only took a half-hour, which wasn't bad. Then we went to Kohls and headed back to Hiram. We didn't get a chance to go to afterwards. It was a good night, though. Fun.
Today was spent doing pretty much nothing. Met Carolyn's Mike (very cute and nice... good for you, Soup!!!). I should've unpacked and done homework, but, nah. Tomorrow.
Oh - the Dindi thing is about my car. I named her Dindi (pronounced Gingi). It's a song, really... Jane Monheit sings it, but most people know the Frank Sinatra version. Either way... the lyrics(Antonio Carlos Jobim):
Dindi
Sky, so vast is the sky, with far away clouds just wandering by,
Where do they go? Oh I don't know, don't know;
Wind that speaks to the leaves, telling stories that no one believes,
Stories of love belong to you and to me.

Oh, Dindi, if I only had words I would say all the beautiful
things that I see when you're with me, Oh my Dindi.
Oh Dindi, like the song of the wind in the trees, that's how my heart is
singing Dindi, Happy Dindi, When you're with me.

I love you more each day, yes I do, yes I do;
I'd let you go away, if you take me with you.

Don't you know, Dindi, I'd be running and searching for you like a river that
can't find the sea, that would be me without you, my Dindi.
can't find the sea that would be me without you Dindi.

Like a river that can't find the sea, that would be me without you, my Dindi.

Goodnight, everyone ;-)
