I love this picture

What a weekend. Went by waaaay too fast (of course), but it was quality nevertheless. Not to get too sappy here, but goddamn, I have some special people in my life. I love my friends so much. They're just healthy, encouraging, talented, intelligent beautiful people who inspire me on a daily basis. It's amazing to me how lucky I am sometimes.

Hit up Chez Nous yesterday morning with the girlie crew (10 of us total) for some yummmmmmmmy breakfast. Strong french coffee, fresh baked bread and the best bacon eva! Talked for about 2 hours, with only a minor interruption to sing "Happy Birthday" to some broad who turned 67. It was so L.A.---here's this woman, all supa-tanned and smiley, fully equipped with bright pink lipstick and all. The french dude at the restaurant starts singing Happy Birthday and she stands up to announce her age...well, what makes it L.A. is that she looked nowhere near 67 of course, despite the fake-tan and all, but guess ya just had to be there. She looked real vibrant and happy and I hope she had a good birthday.

Then I head over to my parents house to celebrate my Mom's birthday...I'm about to cut my dad a check for the $483,278,173,459,025 I owe him (haven't made a monthly payment in far too long and I HAD to get back on track and keep chipping away at the grand total). As I'm writing my check, apologizing and pleading for forgiveness for being so irresponsible, I get the best news ever: My dad is completely wiping the slate clean and clearing away all my debt owed to them! YES!!!!! I am completely debt-free in the eyes of my parents! It turns out my parents gave a pretty big sum of money as a gift to my brother and his wife to put towards the new house they bought. That sum was about equal to the amount I owed them and they figured to be fair, they would "give me" the same amount. That was fine with me---I haven't been debt-free with them since I was about 7 years old! Anyway, that was HUGE news. I begin to cry tears of joy. Again, this is huge. And then I finally feel like I can drop the bomb and tell them I'm going to Europe in December. Much to my surprise, not only did they take it well, they're HAPPY for me!!! My mom is all excited to go shopping with me for warm winter vacation clothes, too!

Other stuff to be happy about:

Oh my god, Thievery Corporation & Truby Trio all in the same month! It's almost too much to handle!

It doesn't get much better than that...unless I find some sweetie to hold my hand all night long while I'm grinning from ear-to-ear from all the lovely music goodiness.
