There's something about a semi-serious conversation that is immensely satisfying.
We had a meeting this afternoon to plan for the apps' day on August 30. Honestly, I don't think we have enough time to prepare, but hopefully everything will turn out well.
The meeting was all scattered jokes, jibes, and occasional helpful suggestions. It ended around 7, at which point, those of us remaining trooped over to the kiosks for a little merienda. Cue more jokes and jibes.
On the jeep to Philcoa, I had an enlightening talk with a co-app, who taught me the basics of what may or may not pass as conversational hypnosis. It was really more like using leading questions to get the information I want.
"Do you like sweets?"
"Then you like tarts?"
"What else do you like to eat?"
"Then you eat a lot?"
And that's theoretically how I know someone is a big-eater, without directly asking if they're matakaw (gluttonous, but a bit milder).

My mother is touchy today. She said something like, "You keep doing things I don't like, but I just let them pass."
Don't let them pass, then. Sometimes I end up doing stupid things without noticing, and I won't know how stupid they are until people point them out. I'm sorry for being an idiot, for not recognizing exactly how idiotic I can be, and for not paying attention to the world in general.
It doesn't help that no one corrects me. I really will end up spoiled.
