Rich Man Poor Woman: Thoughts on Episode 7 and Preview of Episode 8

Aug 25, 2012 16:21

AAAAAAAAANNNNNNDDDD WWEEEEEEEEE ARRREEE BAAAAAAAAAAAACCKKK.

THE GLORY HAS RETURNED, OH FAIR FOLK.

I never ever thought I would say this but: The 45 minutes zipped by again and I was so glad. Sure, nothing *happened* except that in different way shit got better and worse, but the utter low that was episode 6 proved to have no impact in the most important department of the show: HyugaxMakoto.

With that over, let's get down to business.

To Defeat. The Huns.

I'm so sorry. I've just never been able to resist.

Anywho, may I just say, RMPW has some kickbum ladies? It's the ladies who take their hearts in their hands and make the first move. They're the ones who confess, who are brutally honest, who support through thick and thin. The guys? One's a genius who is, let's face it, pampered and spoilt by the other, and the other is an idiot with an inferiority complex who doesn't know it when he's shooting his own foot with a cannon. No. Seriously. When Asahina was laughing as Hyuga announced his resignation as if he were on the highest quality of bhang, I laughed right along with him. Welcome to your own destruction, baby~ Although the pampered genius is a cutie, so we'll let most of his trangressions slide (unless he does something even more heinous with Yoko. Then we draw our swords.

Speaking very objectively, Yoko isn't bad. When she confronted her eeevvvvillll brother, my heart softened a lot towards her. Yoko has thus far been aboveboard, and I wish her the best in her romantic overtures... with Nogi.

Was it just me or were the obasan fangirls and Nogi adorable?

Just me?

Hokay.

The confession on the pavement was probably the highlight of this episode for me, and I adored how the timid Makoto spoke up about her feelings, and even though her words were veiled, said veil was so thin that I think I would have to demote Hyuga from Genius to Single-Celled Organism level if he didn't get what, or more specifically, whom, she was talking about.

The bad bits, and ok, there were quite a few, started off with what I complained about in the last episode. TOO MUCH CIRCLING. To be honest, the writing reminds me of a better version of my own writing... Starts off pretty well, we remember to put in some dilemma... and then we forget how to come out of it. So we keep talking about said dilemma for chappies and chappies on end. Rather like what is happening in Perfect Girl Evolution. I want to shake both Mangaka and Writer to GET A HOLD OF THESMELVES AND LET HYUGAXMAKOTO AND SUNAKOXKYOHEI HAPPEN BEFORE I BLEEDING KILL.

Oh, I'm sorry.. the caps key must've gotten stuck there *whistle*

The other bad bit was waaayyy too much Asahinas and sad Hyuga and Makoto. Moar cute please. This is what all of us are watching for.

But seriously, the opening was so cute.. Does anyone ship Yasuoka and the hot office lady (I think her name was Tateishi or Risa or something)? They're so adorable togezzer <333 Also: the programmer who started up his own thing and loves respects Hyuga has a very special voice... like very delicious dark chocolate, and-- we're getting very off-topic here, aren't we?

I don't think I have any more comments for this episode.

The next episode on the other hand.... (preview can be read here) All I can say is that it better have a lot of forward movement and OTP moments and not pull any stupid stunts. Currently RMPW has a feeling of getting sucked in quicksand, and I want it to pull itself up by its bootstraps and soldier on. That's really all I'm asking for. I know that we're only about halfway/two-thirds through the show, but still. The writer is fresh, having written only one other drama (It has Miura Haruma, which is why I know of it, even though I haven't watched it) and I'm expecting great things. Do not let me down *shakes fist*

moya goes crazy over a drama, babies~, oguri shun, jdramas, asahina kosuke, asahina, jdrama, rich man poor woman, ishihara satomi, asahina yoko, aibu saki, drama, natsui makoto, hyuga tohru, rmpw
