Faith Episode 14; It Hurts Dammit.

Sep 26, 2012 10:54

So. Ya'll know the drill from yesterday's ep. Low quality screencaps due to greediness (but loads of 'em), wonky translations (all mine, don't blame poor subbing teams), much squeeing and talking about feelings, and some heartbreak.

And if you've not learnt by now, here's three handy lessons:
1) The drama gods giveth and the drama gods taketh away.
2) If you've gotten happiness, it is at the cost of your flesh, blood, sweat and tears.
3) The drama gods are in the same league as Loki, meaning They. Do. Whut. They. Want.
I scare you enough? Don't worry, this was just the warm up. *Ahnold Schwarznegger voice* Hokay, led's do dis.

Choi Young growl at the accusations flung at him, and says that they can pass out whatever judgement they want. The fact that he's been accused of the one thing he never even imagined has clearly gotten to him, and he warns Deputy and Deok Man to stay away from him, breaking some furniture half in anger and frustration and half in warning.

He comes to his room, only to find it turned upside down. In a moment, Jo Il Shin joins him, gloatingly telling him that for now he is demoted to a regular Woodalchi, and there shall be a Chingook soon. The gaurds argue that the Woodalchi is under the sole control of the king, and are told that the privelige has been revoked. Choi Young catches on. It was him wasn't it? Jo Il Shin says that everything he does is for the good of he nation, and Choi Young towers over him, grinding out what him helping the king had to do with the good of the nation. Clearly Jo Il Shin was simply jealous of the fact that the king did not turn to him anymore.

Meanwhile, the king is told that the fact that Choi Young is going through this is actually good, since everyone is saying that the king is merely a puppet for the Woodalchi to control. The king flares, asking them if they are sabotaging Choi Young for his own good. Do they not know how much Choi Young has shed and gone through on his behalf?

Eun Soo is calculating something out of her diary when Deok Heung (aka PoSlime) comes to take it back. She tries to bluff him, but has clearly made a breakthrough. PoSlime seems to be no fool, and can make out Arabic numerals for what they are, even if he has no clue what she is doing with them.

The moles in the palace keep on passing info to the baddies camp, which obviously leads to a powwow.

But the baddies were mislead, and the moles are caught.

The female mole seems to be more intelligent, and immediately takes out a cyanide capsule, only to have the most violent Heimlich Manoeuvre delivered to her. Damn, Lady Choi. Damn. Never thought of the day that I'd call a Heimlich Manoeuvre badarse.

Meanwhile, nephew darling is sulking, which Eun Soo is not having, so she goes to check up on him.

Why yes, I am going to cap them from every angle possible. She tells him that she may have uncovered the dates on which the portal to heaven opens, and he sits up immediately. She takes out his stitches, and he canna stop staring at her....

..at least until Eun Soo looks up. Upon which we have quick turn of the head and gulping and throat clearing. Stop taking lessons from Eun Oh, boy

Until she mentions that she went to his room (That's not my room anymore.) And she goes on, saying that she found this~

And he just looks at her with the most incredulous expression and snatches away the bottle like it's the most precious thing in the world that no one else can touch. Awww is that your blankie?

She teases him if it's ok to keep a flower and medicine in the same bottle, and he just makes that face, unable to say anything.

She gets up and sits opposite him, telling him that in heaven they have a song about him, singsonging the first few verses of the song "The one who cast away gold as if it were stones..." and he goes wide-eyed, asking her where she knew those particular words from (the saying is sort of a mix between an unexpanded acrostic poem and a haiku, so the combo is important). She tells him, why, they song it in honour of his father's famous words of course, because Choi Young is as pure and clean as him. Of course she knows, she's from heaven. Or is he the only person who doesn't believe her to be a heavenly being, even though he was the one who got her. Him? Bribery? Hah. The people in heaven are laughing at these fools and their stupidity. Lady, we're more closer to sharpening are swords and going in than laughing, but your sentiment and intention I do appreciate. Saying so, she takes her leave.

He sits there, shellshocked, wondering exactly what the hell she is exactly.

And then mentally killing himself for falling for her.

The snake prince tries to whisper into the scholars' ears.

Lady Choi and Deputy report to the king, and Deputy says that the General-- only to be interrupted by Lady Choi reminding him that he's not General anymore. To which the king goes "What is THE GENERAL doing again?" Oh god you babies you~

Deputy tries to explain what is happening on the inside, but Choi Young does not want to hear it.

Meanwhile Eun Soo is frustrated by the difficulty of deciphering the diary, which is when the scholars come in to see her.

They want to know about the future, but she tells them that they have no authority to listen to this heavenly information, and the next time they need to know something, they ought to bring the king himself. Only then may it might be possible. She dismisses them, cheing and harrumphing at how they keep on treating her as a fortune-teller when don't even have the thoughtfulness to give her a fortuneteller's fee. What do they think she is, some search engine?

Choi Young steps in as soon as they leave, and he's listened in on half of the conversation. She praises him for being proactive and coming to find her for once instead of the other way round, offering him some tea. He stops her, telling her to pack lightly and wait for him where they promised to meet everyday when night falls. He tells her that otherwise, the scholars would lock her up in chains for her knowledge. She pshaws it away, saying as if, only to be met with a dead serious look. "Seriously?" She tells him that how would he be able to come, what with the king and all, and he just smiles and tells her not to worry, they'll go together.

She immediately starts collecting supplies and packing up, which alerts Jang Bin, although he keeps quiet about it. She steps out, but not before giving the vases a lingering look, and picking the smallest one up. Oh Eun Soo, I understand your pain.

She goes to visit the Queen, and tells her that even though gynecology is not her specialty, she has left some prescriptions behind for future use. Grabbing her hand, she tells her that since she's her unnie from heaven, she wants to impart some knowledge to her.
"Even though there are many kings and queens in this land, and many that will come, none have come close to what you two feel for each other. If something were to happen to you, or if you were to go someplace without the king, he would discard the nation and only worry about you. So don't leave him."
Nogook, somewhat alarmed, assures her she won't.

Eun Soo asks if she can hug Nogook, just once, and grabs her before she can say no.

I dare anyone to top that on their list of hugging accomplishments. Go on. I dare you.

Lady Choi comes in and informs then that the Chingook for Choi Young will start now, and Eun Soo is instantly worried.

I love how, to the end, the are the General's men, that even though he being lead away to a Chingook by the palace gaurds, they stand behind him and march with him as if her were doing a noble deed and going into battle, which is exactly what it is.

Jo Il Shin pushes his luck too far, insulting Choi Young, and the king finally loses it. Grabbing Jo Il Shin single-handedly by the collar, he growls never to insult Choi Young again, for he has slayed so many lives and gone through so many trials all in his name, on his account, while others did nothing. And this, right here, is why I love Wanggi, despite his inferiority complex and tests of loyalty and other trying issues. Because he one of the tiny handful of people who view and respect Choi Young as a human. Others treat him as a Woodalchi General, a walking killing machine, but no one seems to think that it may be just as hard for him to raise his sword and shed blood as any of them. Of all of the pangs of conscience, the regret, the self-doubt, the nightmares, the utter utter pain that goes into just being and living and surviving as him.

The Chingook. And Choi Young just raises his head, his mouth silent but his eyes overflowing, and he just gives the tiniest smile and the smallest shake of the head imaginable. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. Everything'll be fine. Just go with it.

Jang Bin relays the results of the Chingook: Choi Young confessed willingly and was hauled away in chains and locked up. It would be better if she didn't wait for him. But Eun Soo is resolute. If he says he will come, he will come, and that's that. Oh god, these two have the strongest Faith out of anyone, ever.

Aww babies~ They discuss the recent happenings, and Nogook tells him that Eun Soo came to visit, and while she didn't realise it at that point in time, it felt like she was bidding her goodbye.

Doc comes in to lock up the medical ward, and hears something. He carefully blows out the last candle. No sooner does he leave that the evl pledged siblings come bursting in looking to find someone.

Ok, normally I'm one of the people you'd least expect to poke holes in things since I start watching by hanging my sense of disbelief and going along with anything, but here, they lit up one small candle and the whole place lighted up like a carnival. What industrial grade candle is that, pray tell?

Eum Ja senses a man and a woman, so they go to scope it out, only to be met with a false alarm; it's the Doc and Deoki.

I was hesitant before this, but I fully ship both of you.

Eun Soo waits as she's told, all fidgety.

Dae Man breaks in and frees Choi Young, who promptly dispatches all the gaurds with a flaming log of wood from the lamps, and then walks out in a shower of sparks.

The King is informed that Choi Young broke out, and while no one is surprised, no one has the heart to capture and bring him back either (The Deputy even grins at the fact that Choi Young is virtually uncatchable). Alone with Nogook a little after, he confesses that Choi Young could never be tied down entirely, and has seemingly left to aid the himself, although he can never be completely sure with Choi Young. Hey~ That's what everyone says about Eun Soo~ See? Made for each other~

Eun Soo hides from the patrols, and fumbles for her dagger when she hears a deadpan voice from behind her "Still too slow."

She whirls around in alarm, only to find Choi Young and the relief on her face and gaahhh
He asks her if she's waited long, and she doesn't even hear it, choosing to just *run* to him and grab him. Lady, I approve.
Ok, not to be Ms. picky again, but one moment she has the pink knapsack, and then she's running and it's gone, and how?

And he just ever so gently hugs her back, and I punch the air in giddyness and
Suddenly this demon appears.

Seriously directors, did no one teach you about transitions? I actually let out a small scream at the sudden change.
