Day 114, Fri May 26, 2006
Not a great day. Although I had a note for working from home today, I didn't end up using it.
My sister called me early and told me Mom might have pneumonia. My sister was seeing patients all day (she's a nurse practicioner with a post-bachelor's degree in nursing) in an office kind of far from Mom's house, and her husband was travelling for work that day.
15 minute shower, didn't even get my hair wet, and I raced out the door. Picked up mom and spent hours at the local medical facility. Yes, she's got the beginnings of pneumonia, and some secondary infection from being dehydrated. She was also more wobbly than usual on her feet, and fairly confused. She's also feeling very cold, even with 2 jackets on at a 70 degree day.
So I took her home, where she lives with my sister, the nurse-practicioner, and her husband. Nobody would be home for hours, so I make her drink about 16 oz of water, made a big lunch, and tucked her in for a nap. And I took a nap, too.
So, what to do tonight?
My pulled back muscle is feeling MUCH better. So do I go out tonight? And try out my awesome new mascara? Maybe....
