Day 101, Sat May 13, 2006
So I'm finally "on vacation." *LAUGH*
I DID relax last night, feet up, under a blanket, and a big bowl of icecream.
Today I slept in until 9 AM (gasp!). Ran up to feed the horses, then got right to work cleaning the house. Many rooms were a complete disaster after all the sewing projects and the props-making projects.
Finally cleaned out the mudroom.
I set up the bench with the storage under it out on the front porch, put 4 bags in it, and essentially converted it to an attractive RECYCLING bin. Finally, this house can be earth friendly.
I also have a bottle-deposit recycling bin out there.
Had to reorganize the dining room as I'll have 9 people eating in that tiny room tomorrow (sigh).
Lots of moving furniture, organizing, reorganizing...
And now I'm just chilling with my mom watching "The Royal Wedding" with Gene Kelly. I know that some people think that old movies are boring, too slow, predictable. But to watch a really complicated dance number that was done in ONE SHOT, single camera, no editing...these movie stars were the real deal. For the last 20 years, stand-ins/stunt-doubles, clever editing, and CGI have all been used to enhance the stars, making them appear better/faster, etc.
I really like watching a movie that is driven by character and the actor's talent.
Sigh. I have a scratchy throat, still. It's not even 10 PM and I am yawning. Well, off to bed after Mom takes her pills, and I make sure she doesn't hide her hearing aid away somewhere I can't find it tomorrow!
